Well the transformation has begun. It might only be the beginning of November but, with our annual ‘Christmas at Capesthorne’ event just a few weeks away, the staff are hard at work with the decorations.

Lady Bromley-Davenport leads the team who spend many hours decorating rooms in the hall.  An 18 foot Christmas tree, from Macclesfield Forest, takes pride of place in the Saloon. It has been decorated with hundreds of lights and baubles by the same man, Elio, for the last 60 years! (he’s on the right of this photo)

We’ll have local school choirs, hand-bell ringers, dancers, grown up choirs and musicians entertaining the visitors over the 3 days and Christmas wouldn’t be complete without Father Christmas who will have pride of place next to the Christmas Tree.

Some of the bedrooms take on a different theme each year and yesterday we spotted a particularly splendid polar bear making his way upstairs. It would seem our staff have hidden talents!

Turkey baps, mince pies and mulled wine as well as other refreshments are available to help you get in the Christmas mood.  There is also a large craft and gift marquee.

Christmas at Capesthorne is on:

Friday 27th November 5pm – 9pm

Saturday & Sunday 28th and 29th November 12noon – 5pm

Tickets can be purchased by calling the hall office on: 01625 861221 or on the gate.
