A light-hearted look at life behind the scenes at a stately home

Caravan Park

We re-opened the caravan park in 2013.  It came with a state-of-the-art eco-friendly shower block, 50 pitches, 30 of which are hard-standing and all have electric hook-up.

It’s a great place to relax in peaceful surroundings while discovering Cheshire.

Some of our guests are regular visitors, the most frequent being Brian and Linda who keep coming back despite their caravan being struck by lightning last year.  When they returned a few weeks later, the shower block was on the receiving end of a lightning strike. The couple now have slightly curlier hair than they did before but it hasn’t put them off.  The phrase “Three strikes and they’re out” springs to mind, so we’re keeping an eye on the weather forecast!

On another occasion some hoses under their car were chewed by field mice!  The car was literally a cloud of billowing smoke when they limped into the garage for repairs.

Events at Capesthorne Hall

Many events are held at Capesthorne each year, some open to the public, others private.

We have recently held the very popular Rewind 80’s music festival.  Over 20,000 fans came along to enjoy the music from over 20 bands including Human League, The Boomtown Rats, OMD, Bananarama, ABC, Heather Small.  The weather was very kind to us and everyone had a great time.

Weddings at Capesthorne Hall

Capesthorne Hall is a beautiful Cheshire wedding venue.  With three lakes and picturesque formal gardens, the hall is set in 100 acres of rolling Cheshire parkland.

The hall itself has magnificent state rooms.

The elegant Drawing Room is a wonderful setting for a Civil Ceremony.

The Saloon, with its door leading onto the West Lawn Terrace, is ideal for drinks receptions.

The Queen Anne Room with its impressive fireplace is used for dining.

Our Lakeside Wing has a more contemporary feel, with stunning views across the formal gardens to the lake.
